George B. Dealey, former president and general manager of the Dallas News, accepted the stone on behalf of American journalists. The monument, dedicated Nov. 10 at the School, featured a copper meridian plate, a gift by the class of 1925. It showed the direction and distance from Columbia, Mo., to 37 major international cities.
