School Celebrated 20th Anniversary
Y.P. Wang, BJ '24, assistant business manager of the Shun Pao newspaper in Shanghai, China, presented a set of wooden scrolls to the School for its 20th anniversary. The title scroll says: "The School of Journalism is the center of journalistic learning for a thousand years. It is building a standard for the expression of public opinion in all countries." The School celebrated its 20th anniversary during Journalism Week with a variety of national and international guests.

The Chinese wooden scrolls (top) were a gift for the School's 20th anniversary. By 1928 the School employed 11 faculty members, having increased from two professors and a dean in 1908. Faculty and others attended this picnic at Dean Walter Williams' home in 1929 (bottom).
