Williams Taught in China

Sara Lockwood Williams, BJ '13, MA '31, widow of the late president and dean Walter Williams, taught at Yenching University in Beijing, China, as part of a faculty exchange. Upon her return, she moved to St. Louis and hosted a radio program, "Sara Lockwood Williams' Scrapbook," on KSD. She eventually returned to the School to teach feature writing.

Walter and Sara Lockwood Williams lived at 102 S. Glenwood in Columbia, Mo., where the outdoor photos were taken. At top left is a sketch of Sara by artist Terre Murry, 1932.
