Mott Trained Japanese Journalists
Dean Mott traveled to Tokyo upon invitation of the War Department to advise members of General Douglas MacArthur's staff and Japanese newspaper leaders on formal journalistic training for reporters in Japan. In 1945, Mott had established a journalism school in the Army's education program in Biarritz, France.
As dean during World War II, Frank L. Mott not only traveled at the request of the U.S. military, but also played host to many military guests. He welcomed Admiral Clark Howell Woodward to the School during Journalism Week 1945.
