"Missouri Forum" Educated Mid-Missourians
|
In the 1950s, KOMU began producing the "Missouri Forum," a weekly public affairs show. Professor Edward C. Lambert was the longest-tenured moderator of the show, directing discussions on issues important to Missourians throughout the 1960s and 1970s, including politics, health, crime, the arts, taxes and industry. Local and state leaders often were featured on the show, including governors James T. Blair, John M. Dalton and Warren E. Hearnes. In the 1960s, broadcast journalism students worked in technical positions and sometimes participated in student panels that were featured on the show.
Professor Edward C. Lambert moderated the Missouri Forum from 1958-1980, and the show continued until 1993 with moderator Rod Gelatt.
