Quantitative Research Center Created at School

The Media Research Bureau (now the Center for Advanced Social Research) was established as a comprehensive survey research center within the School. In its first year, it completed 17 projects, ranging from a statewide readership survey for the Missouri Press Association to an assessment of banking services for a local advertising agency.

Under the direction of Judith Sylvester, MA '81, PhD '94, the Media Research Bureau provided low-cost readership and market surveys for clients and gave practical research experience to students.
