2008 Timeline: The First 100 Years   2008 Home | J-School Home University of Missouri Site Map:  Show All 2008 Content 1990-1999: 01 of 15   1991 Missouri Researchers Highlighted Race in the News A research team at the School received a $114,000 grant from the Ford Foundation to produce an annotated bibliography of coverage of race in the news. In 1997, the School received another Ford Foundation grant, this time for $500,000, to find and implement ways to improve media coverage of race and minority issues. The resulting study, "A Strategic Study on Race and the News," was published in the School's "Guide to Research on Race and News."
