funded the Reynolds Journalism Institute, a world-class center for researching and testing new models of journalism. Convergence journalism became the first new emphasis area in 50 years. Mojo Ad joined the School's other hands-on labs as the training ground for strategic communication students. Other new partnerships made the School a nucleus of innovation.

A $31 million gift from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation was the largest in University of Missouri history. Groundbreaking for the new Reynolds Journalism Institute was Sept. 1, 2005.

Convergence journalism students used a variety of media platforms to prepare them for 21st-century communications careers. And, Mojo Ad was the new student-staffed strategic communication agency.
