2005
Curriculum Changes Included New Convergence Journalism Area
Journalism majors selected emphasis areas instead of sequences for more tailored learning opportunities. A new emphasis area, convergence journalism, was added in 2005. Some areas were renamed to "magazine journalism" and "radio-television journalism." In 2008 "newspaper journalism" became "print and digital news."
New to the School in 2005, the convergence journalism emphasis area required its students to be adept at multiple communication technology skills and outlets while maintaining core School values of solid writing along with a commitment to accuracy and fairness.
