Degree and Year: MA '95 (Broadcast) Title: Freelance Video Journalist What do you do? I am a freelance video journalist (videographer/producer/editor). I work for a variety of clients ranging from local television stations to cable networks. How did you get your job? I worked in local television for more than a decade. During that time I worked hard and did a lot of networking outside of local television. In other words, I never passed up an opportunity to try something new. What is the best professional lesson you learned at the J-School? Your passion for what you do, or lack of it, will make or break you. Everything else flows from your love for what you do. What advice do you have for current students? Look inside yourself and find something in this business you love to do. You'll burn out quickly if you don't find something of value other than money or success. What is your favorite J-School memory? I met and married my best friend, Jenny Atwater.
