Degree and Year: BJ '69 (Photojournalism) City and State: Kirksville, Mo. What do you do? I'm between jobs or perhaps you could say "retired" since some of my classmates are calling themselves that now. I volunteer at Kirksville High School in the newspaper and yearbook classes, do a family reunion newsletter and whatever else might come along. Best professional lesson learned at the J-School? I learned that being a professional is a matter of attitude, including how you approach a job, how you follow through and your ethics. What would be your best advice to current students? Believe it or not all that stuff they make you do will come in handy at some time in the future! What do you consider to be your greatest professional achievement? The job I just finished. In other words, I try to look at each project I take on as the opportunity for "greatest professional achievement." What are your next career steps? I just became an "empty nester" so I am taking stock, re-evaluating, and trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. What is something about you that might surprise people? That the "Mother Hen" in the photo lab, after spending 12 years working, raised two children and spent a lot of years working with kids of various ages in church and school events. Or, maybe it wouldn't surprise anyone after all!
