Timothy Dyer, BJ '03, is employed at GMR Marketing in Milwaukee, Wis., as an associate creative director. He works on various accounts for GMR, helping to generate ideas for a wide range of marketing programs across multiple media platforms. He said he enjoys his position, and he offered some advice for those looking at a career in creative services: "My best advice for a student who wants to be tomorrow's 'creative' is to get plugged in via networking. Linkedin (a Web-based networking tool) happens to be my favorite online method for networking. It is also important to become a pop culture follower. In today's world, ideas are being driven by technology and innovation. Literally, you can do whatever you can think of - prom partnerships, sponsorships, music, sports, charity, mobile, gaming, wireless - whatever it is, brands are jumping on-board to do it today, so you've got to be ahead of them." Dyer welcomes opportunities to discuss experiential marketing with others. Added: Nov. 22, 2006

I visited four hospitals this past week in Malawi, and there is still so much work to be done in terms of trying to get treatment to everyone who needs it. It's hard to accept that someone should be denied the possibility of life because they happen to live in an area where treatment isn't yet available and that so many mothers still pass the virus to their babies because they can't get their hands on the one dose of anti-retrovirals needed to reduce the chances of transmission."
