Doctoral students at the Missouri School of Journalism receive full support for six semesters of study and fully subsidized voluntary health insurance. Information about the benefits and subsidy program is available through the MU Graduate School.

Research and Travel Support

Doctoral students receive financial support for direct expenses incurred in conducting research for their dissertation. When finances allow, we provide up to $500 of annual travel support for one professional conference (typically the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication), should you have a paper accepted there. In certain circumstances, we will fund travel to a second conference if you have a second paper accepted.

Federal Financial Aid

If additional funds are needed for living and other expenses, please contact the MU Student Financial Aid Office about federal financial aid.

International Students

International students should contact the International Center about funding opportunities.
