SARAH HILL is a four-time Emmy award-winning reporter and 5 p.m. anchor at KOMU-TV 8, the broadcast lab for the Missouri School of Journalism. She also serves as adjunct faculty for the School.

Hill started her career in radio in the early 90's, covering the city beat in Springfield, Mo. She joined KOMU in 2000. There, she reports a weekly feature franchise called "Sarah's Stories," anchors KOMU News at 5, and helps students hone their storytelling skills. Hill also produces a weekly segment called "Your View," which seeks to educate viewers about decision making in local news.

Hill earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree in 1993 from the Missouri School of Journalism. In addition, she's won numerous awards including a national Edward R. Murrow Award, four Emmys from the Mid-America Chapter of the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences and six regional Edward R. Murrow awards. Hill's reporting has taken her around the world. She's covered the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami in Sri Lanka and Indonesia and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana. Most recently, Hill traveled to DaNang, Vietnam, to illustrate the worldwide mobility challenges of people who are unable to use their legs.

Hill volunteers at several local schools and at the Ronald McDonald House Family Room, a special area for families with sick children inside Columbia's University Hospital. Most recently, Hill started an organization called Central Missouri Honor Flight, which flies WWII veterans at no cost to them to see their war memorials in Washington, D.C.
